A Walk Around The Garden September 2016

Wow.... It's been way too long since I posted here, or gave you any kind of update! That's for a few reasons, winter =sickness, we are still busy renovating, and I got a new phone and cannot get some of  my pictures off to show you the updates for the house! But enough of the excuses.

What has been happening at Four Chooks Farm!?

Well...where do I start, the house is all but finished. It was a bit of a hectic time living in the renovations, and moving from one room to another while we did so. But the hard work and efforts have paid off and the house is delightful. My favourite part of the day is mid morning - the house really come into its own and is at its best. The sun is shining in through the windows, the warm breeze brings the smell of blossoms into the house, and it's quiet....oh.so.quiet!

The garden will be the next job, and we are already planning our layout of what we want and where we want to plant it. But more on that in another blog post!

For now although it seems we don't have much in the garden, and our vegetable garden is not anywhere near ready. We do have quite a few things in already. They are as follows:

BACKYARD -

X4 grape vines (established)
X2 lemon trees (one established, one established in a pot)
X2 white peaches (one new, one older but well trimmed)
X1 passion fruit vine (new)
X1 plum (new)
X1 pink lady apple (new in pot)
X1 apricot (new in pot)
X1 loquat (established)

BERRY PATCH -

X1 blueberry
X1 blackberry
X1 loganberry
X2 children's veggie gardens

FRONT YARD -

X2 kiwi fruit vines (new, one male one female)
X20 tomatoes
X71 beetroots
X1 mint
X1 chocolate mint
X1 parsley
X1 coriander
X1 comfrey (not edible - great compost)

Wow! When I write it all down, we do have quite a bit already! Not all has been planted yet, nor are all fruiting yet, but with the blossoms on the new trees I am hopeful! We also have planted out some pumpkin seeds today, and are enjoying the daisys and Lily's around the place too!

So please take a walk around the garden with me.....

Enjoy!
