What's Growing September 2015
Because we are in the midst of renovations here at Four Chooks Farm, our vegetable gardens are not in yet. But we do have some things growing....
Our mint and chocolate mint came back from the dead!
We have some beautiful hydrangeas that we saved from the yard.
A blackberry bush that a friend gave us is showing some new growth.
The loquat tree is producing a HUGE abundance of fruit, and we are so excited to see what we can do with this fruit that is new to us!
Our peach tree that is happily growing on the fence line is full of blossoms!
Our favorite things growing at the moment are.... our grape vines! They were more than overgrown when we moved in and had to be trimmed or should I say hacked back! But, the amazing and I really mean amazing thing about grape vines, is that if the root remains undamaged, they will force a new shoot!!! How incredible is that! Ours have done just that! Forced beautiful little shoots, that will soon provide us with beautiful sweet grapes!!!
