Update - Spring 2017

Well...Hello! It's been far far too long since I have written here! I've missed this! So hello again 👋🏻

We have been quite busy! Busy doing what you may ask? Apart from life, and getting the flu over winter (yes, the we didn't leave the house for 2 weeks flu). We have been busy PLANTING!

We have all but finished our house renovation, and got stuck well and truly into the garden! We had pulled out all the original gardens and replanted  what we needed to try and 'live' off the land. We have almost completed this mammoth task. And I've said it before but I'll say it again.....my husband is amazing! He has an idea and just keeps going until the job is done! He is the muscle that gets these jobs done, so.......thank you darling!

The 9th of may marked not only 2 years since we moved into this house and started this renovation journey, but it was also the day we completed our raised vegetable garden beds and started planting!

What have we ended up with then? We have planted 22 fruit trees, we have 8 vines and berries, and have 7 raised garden beds and 2 side garden beds full of vegetables! This may not seem much to some that have real farms, but remember this is all on 700m2! Oh and there is a house, shed, woodshed, chicken coop and run, and 2 lawn areas in that 700m2 too! So for us this is urban farming at its finest! Our city farm! We do not need to shop for vegetables or eggs, and soon our fruit trees will have matured enough and we can cross fruit off of the shopping list too!

Our vegetables have actually taken off so well, that we are actually selling our homegrown, spray free, picked on the day of pick up, delicious vegetables! If you are interested in buying one of our seasonal produce bags then contact us through Instagram or Facebook!

In the mean time I'll keep thinking about what our little urban farm needs next. Maybe a cow or two...a few pigs?! Ha! Joking of course, but a city farm girl can dream!

Till next time (I promise it won't be so long!),

Toodle pip!
