Homemade Laundry Liquid
This is the best homemade laundry liquid!
It costs less than $2 and makes 10 litres!
1 1/2 litres water
1 cup grated laundry soap, homemade soap or soap flakes (I use lux)
1/2 cup washing soda (not baking soda, find washing soda in laundry aisle at supermarket)
1/2 cup borax
Leave borax out if you use grey water on you garden, as it builds up in the soil and affects the plants. It's safe in septic tanks though.
Method:
In a medium saucepan add 4 cups of water and the soap and mix until completely dissolved.
Pour into a 10 litre bucket.
Add washing soda and borax and stir until thickened.
Fill with water (to make 10litres).
Continue to stir, it will thicken as it cools. And the more you stir the smoother the liquid will be.
Pour into containers, shake well before use.
Use 1/4 to 1/2 cup per load.
For stains rub a little of the liquid onto the stain and leave for 5 minutes then wash as usual.
